Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 September 2026
AutoLog is a vehicle logbook that runs entirely on your device.
What we collect
Nothing. AutoLog has no account, no server and no analytics. We cannot see your vehicles, your costs, your locations or your photos, because none of it is ever sent to us.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you enter — vehicles, services, expenses, fuel, trips, tyre sets, reminders, receipt photos and settings — is stored in a database inside the app's own private storage on your device. It is included in your device's own backup (iCloud or Google), under your control, and is removed when you delete the app.
Permissions, and why they are asked for
AutoLog asks for each of these only when you use the feature that needs it, and the app works without them:
| Permission | Used for | Leaves the device? |
|---|---|---|
| Location | Filling in the address of the place a service or expense happened | No. The coordinates are saved in your entry only. |
| Photo library / camera | Attaching a receipt photo to an entry | No. The photo is copied into the app's own storage. |
| Calendar | Adding your service reminders as events to the calendar you choose | Only to that calendar. If you pick a Google or iCloud calendar, that provider syncs it under their own policy. |
| Notifications | Reminding you when a service is due | No. Reminders are scheduled locally on the device. |
When data does leave the device
Only when you deliberately send it:
- Export or backup — you choose where the file goes through the system share sheet.
- Open in Maps — the place name or coordinates are handed to Apple Maps or Google Maps, which then applies its own privacy policy.
- Calendar — as described above.
Children
AutoLog is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will ship with the app and the date above will change.
